GlitterBuzzStyle Women's Issues: An Inspiration in Our History

With the election of Barack Obama, (which made many of us weep with joy) along with it has come a multitude of inspirations. Inspirations for minorities of course, to broaden their horizons and their aspirations for their future. CNN aired a video of young boy standing up in his classroom saying, "If Obama can be president, that means I can too." We should all keep that echo in the back of our minds, and translate that to whatever is relevant in our lives. If you want to be a Senator, or a Navy Seal, or be in the Olympics some day - nothing is too high, nothing is out of reach. It takes commitment, dedication, determination, and hard work, but the barriers of race or socioeconomic status or religion are quickly falling. Soon those things will never be an obstacle for anyone ever again. This is a time where I can say I'm truly proud to be an American. An even more so, an American woman.
