GlitterBuzzStyle Presents: The Wedding Zone with Malan B.

Hey everyone! Yes, I am back! I have some great things to tell you about my wedding and how I am dealing with making it fabulous with a small budget. I will also give you some great tips on how to make you dollar stretch in this recession...

So let me get started about my wedding progress so far...I got my dress! I am very happy that I have the dress that I always wanted. I went bridal browsing with my father, my aunt and a family friend. I was trying on a few dresses to see which one would be best for me. I was not necessarily look for my wedding dress that day but I found it. It was my third pick. When you find the right dress, you feel it in your soul. I am not going to post any pics of the dress so my fiancee will be surprise but you definitely will get plenty of pics after the nuptials! The icing on the cake was that I picked out my wedding dress with my dad. It gave us a father/daughter moment that all brides should have with their father before the wedding.

Tip #1: Include you Father/Father Figure in the wedding process. You will remember that day for the rest of you life.

I am finally organizing all the things that are necessary for the wedding. yeah I know, I am a bit late but better late than never. Destination Wedding Planner: The Ultimate Guide to Planning a Wedding from Afar is a great tool for all my destination brides out there. If you need a clean cut guide on what you should do, this book is for you. I picked my copy up from Barnes and Noble but I am sure you can find it at any bookstore near you.

Tip#2: Books are a very helpful tool when planning a wedding. It can give you some great ideas and advice on how to save some $!

Now I am preparing to get all my bridesmaids outfits together. At first I wanted all my bridesmaid to wear dresses with a white sash, but instead I opted to go with an all black dress, cocktail style, this way they can wear it again. I don't see why brides have their bridal party wear dresses that they know that will not be worn again. Pick something that is cute, affordable, and goes with the look of the wedding. All my brides, please do not put your bridal party in ugly outfits so you can shine. Think about the pictures, seriously! Get it right!

Tip #3: Pick out a cute dress for your bridesmaids. Don't have them waste money on a horrible dress. Think about the wedding album!

I also have
dinner dates with my maid of honor (my bff Lynn). This is a great way to get some relax time out of the house. You can discuss the wedding a bit if you want but keep it light. Talk about everything else. Do not make the wedding your life. There is more to you than a ceremony! Have a your favorite cocktail, amaretto sour for me, relax and have some fun. chat, vent, laugh and enjoy life. Weddings can be extremely stressful, so sit back and take some time off!

Just remember being a bride is temporary, being a wife is forever.
