He cheated investors of millions of dollars by claiming he had Vatican connections that enabled him to buy Roman Catholic Church property at a discount. Many were fooled by Follieri including Ms. Hathaway. This guy was a con man on all levels. He lied about his education and his background. The money was used for all the finer things in life; clothes, jewelry, wines, a $37,000-a-month Manhattan condo, and lavished vacations.
Anne dumped the man as soon as the allegations were proven to be true. Anne Hathaway has a new mystery crush in L.A. but considers herself single. I feel for Anne in this situation. Her former boyfriend for 4 years was convicted con man. She dealt with situation with class and elegance. Anne is living her life and working on bigger and better things. Ms. Hathaway is working updated version of "Alice in Wonderland" with Johnny Depp. Anne will be playing the White Queen. Check it out in 2010!
