GlitterBuzzStyle Entertainment-Hollywood actors union seeks authority for strike

Can you believe it SAG (Screen Actors Guild) may go on strike! We all experience the Writer's Strike, now the Actors want better working conditions too. The Screen Actors Guild has been working without a contract for 3 months. Yes, you read right--3 months! The strike is geared to help the guild’s negotiating committee turn up the heat on the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The AMPTP represents the major film and television studios. AMPTP is complaining that SAG's request are not realistic especially now in this horrible economy. The AMPTP or SAG will not budge. According to the New York Times, the committee voted late Wednesday to ask the union’s board to approve a strike authorization vote by its 120,000 members. A strike can only happen if 75% of the members agree.

What does this mean for you? Well, you can say bye bye to all of your favorite T.V. shows. Scary right. I am happy that they are fighting for their rights but why now. Why a strike now? The fall season just begun. I am crossing my fingers for everything to be resolved and my favorite shows like Ugly Betty will be on. Can't we all just get along so I can watch my prime time shows. If a strike does occur than America will be reading a whole lot more. What would you do if there is a strike?
