Women's Issues
Questions from our fabulous readers!
Maryann 40 Queens, NY
I have a degree in Marketing and I just went on an interview and it was horrible.
I was interviewed by a woman who had to be around 30 and she totally didn't like me right off hand. First off I have worked in the Marketing industry for over ten years, my experience was valid for the position. Second I went dressed for success I felt confident and in control. But for some reason this woman gave me a vibe that showed she was jealous or something.
My question is this: Why are some females allowing looks to get in the way of others being successful. When a man interviews me I never feel this way or have this problem. I actually feel more comfortable with a man because the mood is more relaxed. Some woman just have a chip on their shoulder when they should be more inviting to women in the workforce. I don't understand why certain women act this way?

I have seen this numerous times and I don't understand it myself.
That woman who interviewed you knew you were perfect for the job but she might have been insecure or just having a bad day why she treated you like that.
We as woman should not forget how hard it is to be leaders or top dogs in society. And when other women are trying to knock down walls to achieve their goals we have to be more supportive and allow them to accomplish it. It doesn't just take one woman to make it as a leader, we need a team of women.
Maryann this happens to us in many circumstances. You can have on a new outfit and someone will be mad because it looks good on you! Now that doesn't make any sense!
Don't let it get to you, stay confident and a great job will come your way.
