INSPIRATION: “There is a Swedish musical band named ‘I Am? Am I? Who Am I?’ who stages really interesting performance pieces that inspired me for this line and event,” said designer Lorenzo Martone. “It wasn’t a runway show; it wasn’t a presentation. It was the idea of taking something retro and classic, and turning it into something quite modern and different.”“The four collection groupings of Nycked swim (disco, socialwear, studio, and design) offer a new way of communicating how we live our lives,” said designer Jules Kim. “A lifestyle brand is not a brand without life. The dusty nude brows and sharp eye makeup of that silent sex kitten Louise Brooks, spoke miles with each orange poppy lip. The Miami runway will never be the same.”
LOOK: “The idea was to be a little more daring,” said Lead Artist James Boehmer. “It’s not what you’d think of when you imagine a swimwear show. The bold orangey lip, the strong eye that’s a little messy – it worked with Lorenzo’s concept of showing off something unexpected.
